Hilarious.  But typical!

The Raytown farmer who posted a sign on a semi-truck trailer accusing Democrats of being the “Party of Parasites” received more than $1 million in federal crop subsidies since 1995.

The article’s mistake, of course, is assuming that by “parasites,” Jungerman means “people who take money from the government.”  He doesn’t.

And of course:

Crop subsidies are different, he said.

Just so.

Update: I ought to hire this letter writer to write this idiotic blog:

The point here is probably more simple than the debate. When people talk about bailouts and subsidies and welfare and small government, they are selective in what they demonize. They’re against government intrusion in health care while utilizing medicare to get their hips fixed. They’re angry about welfare but accept farm subsidies. They want small government but big military. If they smoke, they want to smoke wherever they please and if they don’t smoke they want everyplace to be smokefree. They hate immigrants but forget their grandfather’s father was an immigrant. They can’t distinguish between legal and illegal immigrants and they don’t want to. They want English only but can’t punctuate a sentence.
